| FEBRUARY 2008 MARKET DRAWS BIG CROWD AND BIG PRICES THE AUCTION CENTER, NEW HARMONY, IN - On a blustery February day after days of ice and snow, our February 2008 Market at ‘The Auction Center’ followed up on an outstanding January 2008 Market auction and produced even greater results. Over 800+ auction goers passed through during the course of the 7-hour sale which offered everything from Firearms to Furniture in multiple auction rings. And the bidder’s who attended came to buy, with items holding high values throughout the day. Featured items sold included Snap-On “American Legends” limited edition tool cabinet, selling for $1,900; a nice lighted Pinball machine fetched $700; and a regulation slate pool table sold for $300+. At 12:00 NOON, the third auction ring began on an excellent 1-owner 2004 Toyota Tundra which topped out at $20,000. The 1999 Harley Fat Boy reached $12,200, while the Volkswagen Dune Buggy sold for $3,000 +. Firearms stole the show at 1:00 PM at the main auction stage, with (2) Ruger Red Label stainless steel 12 gauge over/under shotguns reaching $800 each. Other notables included Colt and Smith & Wesson handguns, Military rifles, and others. Over $15,000 worth of firearms changed hands in approximately 1 hour. Nice name brand electronics, antique furniture, and new/modern furniture held a large crowd through 3:00 PM; while countless other smalls were offered throughout the day including Harley Davidson collectibles, Hundreds of Snap-On tools, restaurant equipment, rolling stock, general household furnishings, and more. All in all, over $110,000 of merchandise was sold. Our February 2008 Market auction was a great example of what results a large amount of market exposure will bring and a great example of how The Auction Center, with over 12,000 square feet of climate controlled auction space, has the ability to host large auctions and draw bidders from all over the Midwest. |
