Andrew Wilson awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – Andrew Wilson was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash by Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb on January 8, 2025. The award is the highest honor bestowed by the governor and recognizes Wilson's exceptional contributions to the State of Indiana.

Wilson is President and Principal Auctioneer/Broker of William Wilson Auction Realty, Inc, a multi generational family business based in New Harmony, Indiana serving the upper midwest states. He is a lifelong New Harmony resident where he lives with his wife Amanda and two daughters Arianna and Alana.

Wilson currently serves as the Chairman of the State Board of Trustees for Ivy Tech Community College along with current and former positions on a number of local, state, and national boards including Junior Achievement of Southwestern Indiana; First United Methodist Church of Mt. Vernon; University of Southern Indiana New Harmony Foundation; Posey County Economic Development Partnership; Posey County Community Foundation; Evansville Museum of Arts, History, and Science; Indiana Auctioneers Association; National Auctioneers Association.

Governor Holcomb presented the award to Wilson at a ceremony held in the Governor’s office at the Indiana Statehouse.

"I am truly honored to receive this award from Governor Holcomb," said Wilson. "I am proud to be a Hoosier and I am committed to continuing to serve our great state."

The Sagamore of the Wabash is a prestigious award that has been given to Hoosiers who have made significant contributions to the state since the 1940s. Past recipients include astronauts, presidents, ambassadors, artists, musicians, politicians, and ordinary citizens who have made Indiana a better place.
